Paris Football Club
Paris FC is one of French capital's most historic and rapidly growing football institutions, based in Paris, Île-de-France. Universally known as "Les Parisiens" or "Les Bleus," the club competes in Ligue 2 and plays its home matches at the 19,151-capacity Stade Charléty in the 13th arrondissement.
Founded in 1969 with the ambition of establishing a top-flight club in the French capital, Paris FC famously merged with Stade Saint-Germain in 1970 to form Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). However, following a political and structural split in 1972, Paris FC retained the professional status and split from PSG, continuing as an independent club dressed in navy blue and sky blue.
The club spent several seasons in Division 1 (Ligue 1) during the 1970s before rebuilding through the lower divisions. In recent years, Paris FC has established itself as an ambitious, modern club known for pioneering initiatives—such as offering free admission to all home matches—and consistently challenging for promotion back to France's top tier through multi-season Ligue 2 play-off runs.
Paris FC maintains historic capital rivalries, most notably cross-town matches against Paris Saint-Germain and traditional Parisian derby encounters with Red Star FC.
