Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club is a professional English football club based in the coastal city of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex. Known as "The Seagulls," the team plays in the Premier League and hosts its home matches at the modern American Express Stadium (Amex Stadium), famous for its vibrant atmosphere.
Founded in 1901, Brighton spent much of its early history in the football league's lower tiers before enjoying a memorable run in the top flight during the late 1970s and early 1980s, which included reaching the FA Cup Final in 1983.
