Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is France’s most successful, iconic, and internationally recognized football club, based in the capital city of Paris. Universally known as "Les Parisiens" (The Parisians) or "Les Rouge-et-Bleu" (The Red-and-Blues), the club plays its home matches at the historic 48,000-capacity Parc des Princes.

Founded in 1970 following the merger of Paris FC and Stade Saint-Germain, the club traditionally plays in navy blue and red shirts, originally designed by iconic fashion designer Daniel Hechter. PSG quickly established itself in the top tier of French football, winning its first Ligue 1 title in 1986 and capturing the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1996.

The club’s modern era began in 2011 following its acquisition by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI). Transforming into a global sporting brand and European superpower, PSG has dominated domestic French football, setting record title runs in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France, while featuring world-class global icons and reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.

Paris Saint-Germain contests France's most famous and passionate national rivalry against Olympique de Marseille, a high-stakes encounter known worldwide as Le Classique.
